Web of Deceit Sneak Peek
This book has been a long, long time in the making. Years ago, I had a very strong image in my head of these two characters. I intended for their story to be a standalone novel, but I was never satisfied with what I envisioned for them. It wasn't until I took my idea for this book and attached it to several other seemingly unrelated story lines that I hit upon the idea for the entire series.
Knowing that, it probably comes as no surprise when I say this was the Astoran book I most anticipated writing, and my patience was richly rewarded. I had one of those amazing experiences where the words just kept coming, the book pouring out of my head like it was happy to finally have its chance to be heard. After wracking my brain for hours with Court of Illusion, it was nice to just let the ideas flow through me as my fingers tapped them out on the keyboard.
I love this entire series, but this book has a particular emotional resonance for me. Writing about Jaris's and Liv's struggles was compelling for me, and the relationship between them feels so strong and so genuine. In many ways, this is the book that all the other books have been building up to, and this is the book that's going to propel the rest of the series toward its conclusion.
